National Education Conference

February 17-19, 2021 • Virtual Programming

There is not a one size fits all approach to designing the perfect setting for a culturally diverse classroom or school, but there are certain strategies that can make a positive difference. Since our children attend school with children and teachers from many different cultures, it is critically important that we make every effort to create opportunities for all of them to feel respected and honored. In this session, participants will explore creative resources and hands-on activities that identify culture and heritage as well as identify their own cultural biases and prejudice. Dialogue and video presentations will better prepare participants to interact and model positive relationships in a diverse classroom setting. This workshop presents simple but effective activities that reduce stereotyping in the early childhood classroom. Join this session to build self-value and self-esteem for all children as you Build Community in the Multi-Cultural Classroom!
