Creating Access with Low Floor High Ceiling Tasks

Low floor high ceiling tasks are problems that are easy to understand or visualize and accessible to a wide range of ages and ability levels. Although difficult to solve, low floor high ceiling tasks present possibilities for all students to work on and engage at their own level. In this session, participants will learn how to develop these types of tasks and do what can seem like the impossible–provide equitable access to students in mathematics as a means to differentiate! They will actively engage in some of the best low floor, high ceiling math tasks! Participants will leave understanding how to create equity in mathematics and let all students see their potential as mathematicians! Join us for an experience you will be jumping to recreate for your students in your school or afterschool setting!
