Improving Student Wellness One Bite at a Time – Virtual Cooking Class!

Let’s get cooking! Common Threads, a non-profit focused on providing healthy programming for students, will lead a virtual hands-on cooking class to provide educators with information for their personal wellness, students’ health, and tips for integration nutrition and healthy cooking into programs virtually. Participants are welcome to cook alongside the chef using groceries from their own homes. Participants will be able to use free Common Threads resources on www.commonbytes.org with their own students. For educators planning to cook along, the session will feature a Black Bean Mango Salsa (https://www.commonbytes.org/#!/recipes/135) that is student-friendly, adaptable for shelf-stable items, fresh items, and can be turned into a tasty salad for an entree! Educators are encouraged to purchase the ingredients and consider adding salad greens and chicken (optional) to make it an entree.
