Learn Fresh’s process for expanding its NBA program to engage K-12 students will inspire your own vision for integrating STEAM disciplines in school. This session will support educators in discovering the best ways to integrate all STEAM disciplines into meaningful, layered, project-based learning experiences. We include a broader understanding of how to leverage community entities more easily, including sports teams, museums, universities, and corporations — adding depth and real-world context.

Learn how to empower your students to take control of their own STEAM and social-emotional learning by leveraging their own passions with professional sports and entertainment! All participants will receive free access to our NBA Math Hoops and STEAM education programs, including free curriculum, digital and board games, and educator training.

Project Adventure creates experiences using games and metaphors. In this workshop, we will demonstrate how to use a game to develop trust between your staff and build a culture of support. We will use metaphor to connect activities to professional development topics, making meaningful connections for your staff so they personally understand the importance of subjects. This experiential approach allows staff to engage more fully in training. After this workshop, you will be ready to put some play in your PD and get a whole lot more out of it!

Join us for a fun and fast-paced session designed around utilizing songwriting and poetry as tools for elevating student self-esteem, language development, and social-emotional learning. Using colorful illustrated prompts and written prompts with definitions, participants will collaborate to craft poems, songs, and raps. Each of these modalities offers opportunities for students to practice speaking, writing, listening, and presenting in a fun and non-intimidating way.
