Sarah Cole has served as the President and CEO of the Glazer Children’s Museum since 2019. She has 25 years of experience working with families in museums, starting with her first museum job as part time educator and animal handler at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. Sarah moved progressively through the organization, leading many iconic museum experience projects, including Barbie: The Fashion Experience, Comic Book Heroes, and many more.
Sarah was part of the team that opened the Glazer Children’s Museum in 2010, when she was the Director of Education, putting into place key programs including the museum’s celebrated neurodiversity affirming programs. As the museum celebrates 15 years in Downtown Tampa, its focus remains firmly on the importance of play as key to development, learning, and mental health for all children, and the value of play for families and for a thriving community. Sarah has led the museum through challenging years while working to build a strong culture that celebrates diversity and values the contributions of everyone on the team.
Sarah has an MA in Museum Studies from Indiana University. Sarah’s experience includes museums for children as well as “grown up” museums, leading teams in exhibitions, operations, and education at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, Carnegie Museum of Natural History, and the Adler Planetarium.
