On Friday, February 25, 2022, Beyond School Hours will be hosting our first ever STEM fair – headlined by Captain Barrington Irving of Flying Classroom, the youngest person and first black pilot to ever fly solo around the world. You won’t want to miss this!
The STEM fair is an interactive environment where attendees move from booth to booth and experience 15-minute bite-sized lessons. At each booth, you will walk away with a key strategy, resource, or activity. Featuring drones, coding, composting, remixing, and more!
The STEM fair takes place on Friday afternoon, during regular conference hours. The STEM fair launches at 2:15pm (workshop block 7) with an amazing kick-off session from Captain Barrington Irving and special guests.
Immediately after the opening session, we will open the interactive STEM fair for two hours. The STEM fair will be open from 3-5pm, coinciding with the end of workshop block 7 and all of workshop block 8. During this portion of the event, you will be able to visit various tables to learn from STEM experts — and leave with some great new ideas, resources, and best practices! Of course, you won’t want to miss Captain Irving’s Flying Classroom stations — he always has a few tricks up his sleeve!
No! The STEM fair is included as a part of your conference registration. We are so excited for this new offering — and we know you will be too! See you there!
