Workshops in this strand focus on expanding literacy learning through innovative, evidence-based, and inclusive practices that empower all learners to thrive. Sessions explore how in school and afterschool educators can strengthen reading, writing, communication, and critical thinking while building meaningful connections across disciplines, cultures, and learning experiences.  Attendees will gain practical strategies to foster student voice, deepen comprehension, support multilingual learners, and integrate creativity, inquiry, and real-world application into literacy instruction.

Workshops in this strand showcase dynamic STEAM experiences that inspire curiosity, fuel creativity, and empower children and youth to become innovators, problem solvers, and critical thinkers. Sessions will highlight hands-on learning opportunities that encourage exploration, experimentation, collaboration, and student-led discovery while connecting learning to real world challenges and opportunities. 

Workshops in this strand focus on preparing our children and youth for college, careers, and life through meaningful, future-focused experiences.  Sessions will address authentic career exploration, work-based learning, mentorship, leadership development, and partnerships that help youth build confidence, adaptability, communication skills, and career readiness. Attendees will gain practical strategies to connect learning to real-world opportunities while supporting students in discovering pathways aligned with their interests, strengths, and goals. 

Workshops in this strand focus on creating nurturing and welcoming student-centered environments where all children and youth feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed. Sessions explore practices that honor student identity, amplify youth voice, strengthen relationships, and remove barriers to participation and learning. Attendees will gain practical strategies to design learning experiences that foster belonging, engagement, confidence, and meaningful growth for every learner.
